In the mid 1970s, Queen Mary College, part of the University of London, had twin ICL 1904S mainframes offering online services to students with its Maximop and overnight batch jobs processed by George 2.
This book is based on a collection of notes made at that time on operating these mainframes. It covers loading the Executive, taking a post mortem, running George as well as a description of the twinned Maximop communications setup. A list of common commands used by the operators is given, with examples taken from system logs at QMC.
